The American mezzo-soprano/soprano, Eileen Moremen, was educated at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Michigan. She had additional training at the Aspen Music Festival, the New England Conservatory and Westminister Choir College in voice and conducting. She studies acting at Atlanta’s Actor’s Express.
Eileen Moremen’s national performance credits include oratorio and recital performances in New England, California, Michigan, New York, New Jersey and Georgia. Her opera roles include Verdi’s Nanetta, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Nora, Mozart’s Despina and Papagena. Musical theatre credits include Carrie Pipperidge from Carousel, Little Mary from Little Mary Sunshine, counsel from Trial by Jury, and Rose from Gypsy. She is also known for crossover performances of jazz, musical theatre and contemporary music. She is also a local church music director in Kennesaw, Georgia and is the former Artistic Director for the Atlanta Feminist Women’s Chorus.
Eileen Moremen joined voice faculty of Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Georgia in 1995 and presently teaches Voice and Opera Workshop. Known as a specialist in the Baroque literature, she founded the Faculty Chamber Music series at KSU. Her voice students are first place winners in the NATS competition and the KSU Concerto Competition. |
