The Hunarian baritone, choral conductor and music pesagogue, Zoltán Mizsei, studied at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Liszt Ferenc Zenemûvészeti Egyetem) in Budapest, where he obtained his MA degree in in Choir Conducting and Teaching Music and his DLA degree in Church Music.
Since September 1994, Zoltán Mizsei is Professor at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he teaches there Renaissance Church Music, Mensural Notation, Gregorian, Choral conducting technique. Since September 2005, he is also Professor at Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Special Education, where he teaches Improvisation technics for music therapeutists. September 2005 he is Professor at the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy, where he teaches Teaching Music History, Writing and Performing Music for Stage.
Zoltán Mizsei has sung in in Voces Aequales Vocal Ensemble, specialising in Renaissance and Contemporary Music. He has performed as baritone soloists, singing Plainchant, Baroque- and Contemporary Music.
Zoltán Mizsei has worked as choral conductor of the St Stephen’s Cathedral Choir, Budapest, with a weekly service in Liturgy: Polyphonic Vespers based on plainchant and pieces by Renaissance composers.
His secialties are: Writing and performing music for Contemporary Dance Theatre and Film; Playing (Keyboard, Electronics) and Singing in various World Music Ensembles. |
