The French tenor, Jean Miannay, began singing lyrical at the Conservatoire de Nantes
before starting musicology studies in Lille. During his years of study, he performed roles such as Tamino in
W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Pelléas in Debussy's
Pelléas et Mélisande or even Basilio in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. He then continued his studies at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne: it was also in the city's Opera that he sang the Prince in Pauline Viardot's Cendrillon in 2017, then Nathanaël in Les Contes d'Hoffmann in 2019. That year, he won the Prix du Center français de promotion lyrique at the Concours International de Chant de Clermont-Ferrand, as well as the Grand Prix of the
Concours Raymond Duffaut at the Opéra du Grand Avignon. He is hired on this occasion to sing the role of Beppe in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci in Avignon in 2020. In 2020-2021, he will play Monsieur Triquet in Eugene Onegin at the Opéra de Lausanne in October. In November, he will take over the role of Beppe at the Clermont Auvergne Opéra. Then, in May 2021, he will perform Araldo in Rinaldo at the Opéra de Lausanne. He currently lives in Lausanne, Switzerland. |
