The American bass-baritone, Tyrique McNeal, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from Northern Illinois University. During that time, he performed the roles of Figaro and Count Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze Di Figaro and Luka in The Bear, Dandini in La Cenerentola, Nick Shadow in Igor Stravinsky's The Rake’s Progress and Papageno in W.A. Mozart's Die Zaubeflöte. He currently studies for his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance (expected graduation: 2023), where he has performed the roles of Polyphemus in Acis and Galatea, the Sheriff in Highway 1 U.S.A and Sarastro in W.A. Mozart's Die Zaubeflöte. He was featured as a Bass soloist for the Hartford Memorial Baptist church’s presentation of George Frideric Handel's The Messiah in Detroit, Michigan. His next performance will be Harašta in The Cunning Little Vixen at the University of Michigan (November 2022). |
