The American choral conductor, Clair McElfresh, was educated at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Carnegie-Mellon University, the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University, he received the honorary degree of Doctor of Music from Combs College, Philadelphia.
Dr. Clair McElfresh is an active musician and administrator, one of the leading All-State and District Choral and Orchestral Festival clinicians. From1958 to 1965 he directed the choir of Forest Hill Church Presbyterian. In 2003, the Southwood Middle School's Magnet Orchestra solo and ensemble groups, under his direction, earned 34 superior awards during the Florida Orchestra Competitions at Braddock High School
Clair McElfresh is the founding Dean of Undergraduate Studies at FIU, he currently teaches at Felix Varela High. |
