The American tenor, Matthew Mazzola, received his Bachelor in Music Education from the University of Houston. During his undergraduate tenure, he sang with the Moores School of Music’s Concert Chorale under the direction of Betsy Cook Weber. He participated with the select group that won first prize ex aequo at the 2013 Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition, and received three gold medals at the 2015 Grand Prix of Nations competition in Magdeburg, Germany.
After finishing his degree, Matthew Mazzola taught elementary music (Robert L Crippen Elementary School in Porter, Texas), and sang professionally with Cantare Houston (Director: Amy Solberg), Bach Society Houston (Director: Rick Erickson) and Houston Chamber Choir (Director: Robert Simpson). In June 2017, he joined the vocal ensemble Chanticleer (Director: William Fred Scott) in San Francisco, California.
