Heiko Mauchel (Bass)

Born: 1970 - Arnstadt, Thuringia, Germany

The German bass, Heiko Mauchel, received from 1979 to 1985 his first music theory as well as instrumental lessons at the Musikschule Erfurt. By 1985 he moved to the Musikgymnasium Wernigerode to study at he special classes for music education. There he was a member of the Rundfunk-Jugendchor and the Kammerensemble, sang as 2nd basss in a vocal double quartet and performed as bassist and singer of the former school band. From 1990 to 1995, he studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar.

Since 1995, Heiko Mauchel has been a member of the Erfurter Opernchor. Part-time, he sings in the vocal quartet Fracksausen. His roles at Theater Erfurt include: Pritschitsch in Die lustige Witwe (2004-2005 season); 3rd slave in Die Zauberflöte (2006-2007 season).
