The Japanese basritone, Takashi Matsudaira (Japanese: 松平 敬 ), Graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts. He completed the graduate school. He participated in the Stockhausen workshop held in Kurten, Germany almost every year since 2000, and learned about the composition and orthodox performance of Stockhausen's works. He also performed at the concert at the workshop, performing Tearkrais, Song of the Seven Days and Spiral under the supervision of the composer. In 2007 he received the Stockhausen Prize for the winning performance of Spiral.
To date, Takashi Matsudaira gives recitals based on all avant-garde works such as Joji Yuasa and Xenakis, recitals combining Schubert Winterreise and Cage's Winter Music and Song Books (simultaneous performance), recitals based on all songs Arnold Schoenberg's Lieder, etc. Held and gained a high reputation in Music Friends magazine. In 2007, he performed the works of Shoko Shida and Shersi in Cologne, and the entire contents were broadcast in Germany. In 2009, Stockhausen's masterpiece I Walk in the Sky was premiered in Japan.
In addition to his activities as a vocalist, Takashi Matsudaira also composes, arranges, conducts chorus, and writes for Record Art magazine. Currently he is a lecturer at Bunkyo University, Shotoku University, a member of the Japan Vocal Academy, and a member of Gemini Trio. In February 2010, the first solo CD "MONO = POLI" was released. This album, which contains vocal ensemble works from the 13th to 21st centuries, has a single voice in all voices (up to 16 voices) from soprano to bass. |
