The German bass, Peter Maruhn, completed his singing studies at the Musikhochschule Mannheim with Rudolf Piernay and Snezana Stamenković. He furthered his musical studies in master-classes with Sergei Leiferkus, Cornelius Reid and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. He was awarded a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Verbandes and the Freistaates Bayern.
Peter Maruhn’s extensive concert and operatic work includes collaboration with conductors Cornelius Meister, Frieder Bernius, Ari Rasilainen, Marc Piollet, Yakov Kreizberg and Carlo Franci. Numerous guest engagements include the bass at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, National-theater Mannheim, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and Oper Frankfurt, among others, as well as international music festivals such as the Schwetzinger Festspiele or the Festival Peralada in Spain. He was most recently heard in the role of Maestro Biscroma in the new production of Donizetti's Viva la Mamma at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, took over the role of Podesta in Rossini's La gazza Ladra at the Rheingau Musikfestival and sang the role of Masetto in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Theater Bielefeld. . |
