The Austrian tenor, Martin Maier, studied singing with Gerd Fussi at the Josef-Matthias-Hauer-Konservatorium in Wiener Neustadt, graduation with excellent success. He studied Lieder and Oratorio with Kammersänger Robert Holl and Singing with Karlheinz Hanser at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. He also attended master-classes with Kammersänger Kurt Equiluz, Kammersängerin Helena Lazarska and Hans Werner Schneider.
Martin Maier has gained choir experience at the Arnold Schoenberg Chor (Director: Erwin Ortner), Philharmonia Chor Wien, Konzertvereinigung Wiener Staatsopernchor, Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock) and J.M.Hauer Ensemble. He has appeared as a soloist of the parish of St. Stephan in Baden, at the Wiener Stephans Dom, Augustiner Kirche Wien and with ARS-Musica as Lied- and Oratorio singer.
Opera productions of the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien as Horace in Charles Gounod's La Colombe, as Sou Chong in Lehár's Das Land des Lächelns, as Paul in Felix Mendelssohn's collage Walburgisn8raum and as Pylades in Gluck's Iphigenie on Tauris. His first engagement at the Theater Baden as Camille de Rossillion in Lehár's Die lustige Witwe, at the Sommer-Festival Kittsee, as Vinzenz in Fall's Der fidele Bauer, role of the Duke in A Night in Venice at the classic Wr. Operettenensemble, Ottokar in the Zigeunerbaron by Johann Strauss at the Festsaal der Wiener Hofburg, Sichl" in Ditterdorf's Doktor und Apotheker at the Sommerfestival Aschbach, as well as Dr. Blind in the Fledermaus by Johann Strauss at the Kleinen Wiener Operntheater. He sang solo part in Nostalgia in the Festspielhaus St. Pölten. |
