The Canadian counter-tenor, Peter Mahon, divides his time between singing and conducting, as well as being an agent for Bosley Real Estate Ltd. Over the past thirty years he has appeared on concert stages across Canada and on recordings with Tafelmusik Chamber Choir, Toronto Consort, Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, the Aradia Baroque Ensemble, Bach-Elgar Choir of Hamilton, Toronto Chamber Choir, at the Montreal Early Music Festival and Montreal Chamber Music Festival, and well as many Tafelmusik productions.
Peter Mahon has recorded for CBC Records, Atma Classique, Marquis Classics and Naxos, and is a member of the Tafelmusik Consort and La Chapelle de Québec. In 2003 he became the Artistic Director of the Tallis Choir of Toronto. He is also Director of Music at St. Thomas More Anglican Ordinariate Church, Choir Director at Lorne Park Baptist Church in Mississauga Ontario, and a rehearsal conductor and voice teacher at St. Michael’s Choir School, Toronto. He is married to soprano Katharine Pimenoff and they have six children (all singers), two of whom have now sung with the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir. He currently lives in Lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. |
