The American soprano, Greer Lyle, studied at Georgia State University (August 2013-May 2019). She is a soprano in the Yale Opera Program within the Yale School of Music (Certificate in Performance: August 2019-May 2022). She is currently a student of Gerald Martin Moore. She is Resident Artist at Opera North (2022)
Greer Lyle made her professional debut in 2018 as a Gerdine Young Artist with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Once there, she earned the Gaddes Career Award and invitation to return as a Gerdine Young Artist in 2019. In spring of 2021, she competed at the semifinalist level for the first-ever livestreamed Metropolitan opera National Council Auditions. Her previous awards include Encouragement Awards at the 2017-2020 Georgia and Arkansas District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Encouragement Awards at the 2018 Pro-Mozart Society of Atlanta and 2017 Madame Rose Mobile Opera Competition, and Winner of the 2017 Atlanta Music Club Scholarship Competition.
Greer Lyle's previous roles include Donna Anna from W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni (Yale Opera/GSU Opera Theatre, 2021/2015), Mimi from Puccini's La bohéme (Yale Opera/GSU Opera Theatre, 2021/2015), Zemfira in Sergei Rachmaninov's Aleko (Yale Opera, 2019), and Florencia in Catàn's Florencia en El Amazonas (Yale Opera, 2020). She has also been Staff Singer at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Atlanta (since January 2014) and at Congregational Church New Canaan, Connecticut (since September 2021). |
