The Swedish spinto soprano, Isabella Lundqvist, began her classical singing studies at Härnösands Folkhögskola, Härnösand in Härnösand (2010-2012) and advanced from there to Gothenburg where she took her Bachelor of Arts degree in Opera at the Academy of Music and Drama (2012-2015), as well two advance opera interpreation courses (2015, 2016). Following year she moved to Stockholm where she studied the masters programme in opera at the Royal College of Opera (2016-2018).
Isabella Lundqvist's repertoire ranges from contemporary music to W.A. Mozart and the italian Verismo. During her studies she performed roles as Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, Mimi in La Bohème and Donna Elvira in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni. She has also premiered numerous contemporary operas as well as performed as soloist in oratories such as Johannes Brahms' Requiem, George Frideric Handel's Messiah, Maurice Duruflé's Requiem, Schubert's Mass in G Major. In 2019 she made her German debut at the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater as Maddalena in Andrea Chénier. |
