The Welsh soprano, Carys Lloyd Roberts, studied at the Welsh College of Music and Drama where she won several prizes and awards.
Carys Lloyd Roberts’ roles include Nymph in Rameau's Les Boreades for the City of Birmingham Touring Opera, Papagena in The Magic Flute with Opera Lyrica, Angelica in Orlando and Paquette in Candide for Musica Nel Chiostro. Other roles have included First Lady, Barbarina and Hansel; Purcell’s King Arthur with Les Arts Florissants at Covent Garden and The Fairy Queen with the Northern Sinfonia. She was also engaged at the Wales National Opera and has appeared with Glyndebourne Festival Opera for three seasons and Glyndebourne Touring Opera for two seasons. Concerts include the Jonathan Miller's production of J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244) and appearances at the Llandaff Cathedral and St Martin-in-the-Fields, London.
Television work includes a programme of Welsh songs for S4C and Jonathan Miller's dramatisation of the St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244) for the BBC. She sings and records regularly with London Voices and her work with them has included the film sound tracks to Star Wars Episodes 1 and 2, Harry Potter 1, 2 and 3 and the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. |
