The Austrian tenor, Herbert Lippert was at the beginning of his career a soloist at the Wiener Sängerknaben and studied music at the Vienna University, where he graduated with extraordinary results.
Herbert Lippert is one of the most renowned tenors of our times. Working together with celebrated orchestras, he is also performing at the worlds major opera houses. Two genius conductors, Sir Georg Solti and Wolfgang Sawallisch, were the first to promote his voice and lots of outstanding productions such as The Creation, Don Giovanni and Die Meistersinger emerged under their direction. Currently, the tenor mainly works with conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Franz Welser-Möst, Riccardo Muti, Fabio Luisi, Zubin Mehta and Seiji Ozawa.
Together with the Wiener Philharmoniker, Herbert Lippert has not only established a deep and long-lasting relationship at the genre of operas and concerts, but also in the Operetta-segment, where he cooperates with a dedicated team of the orchestra. Amongst the highlights of season 2008-2009 are recordings and concerts with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and the Concentus Musicus Wien, with Riccardo Muti and the Bayrische Radio Symphonieorchester/Orchester Maggio Musicale Florenz, with Daniele Gatti and the Orchestre National de France, with Fabio Luisi and Dresden Staatskapelle, with Franz Welser-Möst and the Wiener Philharmoniker, as well as two new opera roles - `Stolzing` at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Lohengrin at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. Further, he is continuously performing in concerts, operas and recitals around the world.
