The American soprano, Linda Lee Jones, holds hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Loyola University and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and Voice from Westminster Choir College of Rider University.
Linda Lee Jones is active as a soprano, teacher and massage therapist in New York City and Central New Jersey. Her work as an ensemble singer has afforded her the opportunity to perform with the area’s most prominent choral groups, including the choirs of Trinity Wall Street Church, Musica Sacra, the New York Choral Artists, St. Ignatius Loyola Church and the Mostly Mozart Festival, along with some of the world’s finest orchestras and conductors. Ms. Jones is a member of the professional Chorale of the Carmel Bach Festival in Carmel, California and sings regularly with the choir of St. Mary the Virgin in New York. She is a member of the Western Wind Vocal Ensemble, an a capella sextet, and the critically acclaimed and Grammy-nominated Trinity Wall Street Choir. As a member in Western Wind, Linda works as a teaching and performing artist in high schools, and teaches during the summer at extended a cappella workshops for amateur ensemble singers of all skill levels.
As a soloist Linda Lee Jones e has appeared with the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans, the Louisiana Vocal Arts Chorale, the Masterwork Chorus of New Jersey and the Argento Chamber Ensemble in New York.
Recent performances with Western Wind include a program of Polish Renaissance repertoire with the Folger Consort of Washington D.C., and a semi-staged presentation of Orazio Vecchi's madrigal comedy L'amfiparnasso. As a member of Trinity Wall Street Choir, she recently toured the USA and Europe with Europe's leading Baroque orchestra, The English Concert and Harry Bicket in their production of George Frideric Handel's Theodora, recorded and premiered Ralf Yusulf Gawlick's Missa gentis humanae for a cappella octet, and collaborated with the Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montreal in performances of Renaissance and contemporary works for 40 voices.
Before relocating to New Jersey Linda Lee Jones served as Director of Music for Munholland United Methodist Church in New Orleans, where she worked with choristers of all ages. She currently lives in Belle Mead, New Jersey. |
