The English tenor, Mark Le Brocq (neé: Mark Taylor), held a choral scholarship at St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge where he read English. During this period, he was a member of the Cambridge Singers (Director: John Rutter). He studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Kenneth Bowen and later continued at the National Opera Studio where he was sponsored by The Friends of English National Opera.
Upon completing his studies, Mark Le Brocq became a Company Principal with English National Opera (ENO). Roles at ENO included Tamino in W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute; Paris King Priam; Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville; Narraboth in Salome; Cassio in Otello; Don Ottavio in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni; Don Basilio in W.A. Mozart's Figaro and Doctor Maxwell in The Silver Tassie.
