The American tenor, Mark Murphy Laseter, studied Voice Performance at Westminster Choir College of Rider University (2010-2014); obtained his Master of Sacred Music degree in Voice from University of Notre Dame (August 2018-May 2020). He is currently a DMA student in Historical Performance Practice at Case Western Reserve University (since July 2020). He was awarded 1st Prize in the 2021 Audrey Rooney Vocal Competition through the Kentucky Bach Choir.
Mark Laseter has been Accompanist at American Boychoir School in Princeton, New Jersey (August 2014-July 2015); Tenor at Seraphic Fire in Miami, Florida (October 2016-2017); Organist at First Baptist Church of Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee (October 2016-August 2017); Tenor Choral Scholar at Hereford Cathedral, UK (August 2017-August 2018); Cantabile Co-Director at Notre Dame Children's Choir - NDCC in Notre Dame, Indiana (August 2018-May 2020); Tenor at The Crossing: New Music in Philadelphia (since August 2016); Tenor at True Concord Voices and Orchestra in Tucson, Arizona (since January 2019); Tenor at Classical Uprising (since June 2019); Tenor at Apollo's Fire: The Cleveland Baroque Orchestra (Director: Jeannette Sorrell; since December 2019).
2017-2018 season saw Mark Laseter in the UK, where highlights included performances for Prince William Duke of Cambridge at Hereford Cathedral, for Charles Prince of Wales in a concert at Buckingham Palace, and for Pope Francis both in St. Peter’s Square and the Sistine Chapel. Recent engagements include projects with Seraphic Fire, True Concord Voices and Orchestra, and Grammy Award-winning-ensemble The Crossing. |
