The American baritone, Erik Earl Larson, He studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2010-2014) and the Boston University Opera Institute (2016-2018). He has received recognition in competition from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Gerda Lissner Foundation, and the Giulio Gari Foundation.
Erik Larson has been a young artist with the Music Academy of the West (June-August 2014), Sarasota Opera (December 2015-May 2016), and Des Moines Metro Opera (May-July 2017). During the 2017-2018 season, he sang both Le Dancaïre and Escamillo in Georges Bizet's Carmen in two separate productions - the former under the baton of John DeMain with Madison Opera (Octobe-November 2017), and the latter in concert with the Parkway Concert Orchestra. Other recent highlights include Golaud in Pelléas et Mélisande, Figaro in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Maguire in Emmeline, and Sid in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring all with the Boston University Opera Institute.
During the 2018-2019 season, Erik Larson joins Fort Worth Opera as a FWO-TCU Lesley Artist where he will perform the Father in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel for Children’s Opera Theatre performances. Other engagements this season include Fort Worth Opera’s Frontiers showcase during the 2019 spring festival.
In addition, Erik Larson was Chorus member at Madison Opera in Madison, Wisconsin (2010-2014), Cantor at St. Michael Catholic Church in Houston, Texas (August 2014-September 2015) and Chorister at The Riverside Church in the City of New York (September 2015-May 2016). He currently lives in Fort Worth, Texas. |
