American soprano, Ashlee Lamar, graduated cum laude from The Boston Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance with Opera Emphasis (2012-2016). She holds a Performance Diploma from Boston University in Voice Performance (2016-2018), and is currently completing her Certificate in Opera Performance from the Boston University Opera Institute, where she is a student of Penelope Bitzas (2018-2020).
Ashlee Lamar is praised for her "fire" and "delicious" voice. She has recently appeared as Mimì in La bohème with Red River Lyric Opera (2017), Countess Ceprano in Rigoletto (2015) and Fiordiligi (cover) in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte (2015)as a Young Artist with The Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center, Harriet Mosher and Emmeline Mosher (cover) in Emmeline (2017) and Kate Mayfield in Sweets by Kate (2017) with the Opera Institute. Equally at home in contemporary repertoire, she has had the pleasure of performing roles by many contemporary composers including Tobias Picker, Kevin Puts, John Musto, and Griffin Candey.
In the 2018-2019 season, Ashlee Lamar performed the title role in Suor Angelica as a Festival Artist with Red River Lyric Opera, Violetta Valéry in La Traviata, Vera Donovan in Dolores Claiborne, and Ruth Baldwin in John Musto's Later the Same Evening with the Opera Institute, and Eleanor Iselin in Kevin Puts and Mark Campbell's The Manchurian Candidate as an Emerging Artist with Seagle Music Colony.
In the 2020 season, Ashlee Lamar looks forward to several role debuts including Vitellia in W.A. Mozart's La clemenza di Tito with Boston University Opera Institute, Donna Anna (cover) in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni and Baroness Zeller in The Sound of Music, both with The Glimmerglass Festival.
