This German soprano, Petra Labitzke, studied at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. In 1995, she was already heard at the international opera festival "Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg", where she performed the role of Betty in Falstaff by Salieri.
Petra Labitzke debuted as a permanent ensemble member of the Würzburger Oper in the role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and was later heard in all the major roles of her voice. She was also awarded the 'Nachwuchsförderpreis für junge Künstler 1999'. Since the 1999-2000 season, she is an ensemble member of the Opera of Kassel. She was heard there as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier and Ilia in Idomeneo. Furthermore she appeared at the opera houses of Lübeck, Rostock and Augsburg.
Petra Labitzke is also a successful concert singer. She is regularly heard at the festivals: Europäischen Musik Fest Stuttgart, Printemps des Arts Monte Carlo, Musique sacrée Nice en de Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen. From next season (2002-2003?), she will be an ensemble member of the opera of Bern. She was heard at the Vlaamse Opera already in the role of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. |
