The American soprano, Jillian Michelle Krickl, began her choral singing career while she was an undergraduate at The University of Chicago, where she majored with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Psychology and Romance Languages and Literatures and minored in music (2002-2006). Whele there she sang in the Motet Choir (Soprano: 2002-2006; Soprano Section Leader: 2005-2006) and was Vice President of Burton Judson Dormitory Council (2003-2004). She later obtained her Certificate in Manuscript Editing also from The University of Chicago (2016-2017).
Jillian Krickl has been a member of Holy Name Cathedral’s Schola Cantorum Cathedralis since 2007 and has also served as a choral scholar at the Monastery of the Holy Cross since 2012. In Chicago, she has performed with many concert groups, including Aestas Consort and the Oriana Singers, and she has also performed nationally as both a soloist and chamber ensemble singer. She also directs and performs in chamber ensembles monthly at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Calumet City. She was also soprano singer in Schola Laudis, ensemble of 20 other professional singers, focusing mainly on late medieval and early Renaissance works. (2012-May 2017)
Jillian Krickl has worked as Editor at Wordzen, Inc. in Chicago (2016-April 2017). She works as Independent Contractor: Music Coordinator, Director, and Researcher (since 2004; she has researched and analyzed scores of music to update repertoire lists, focusing on motets of the Franco-Flemish School (Renaissance). She also coordinates and directs ensembles of varying sizes from vocal trios to full choirs with orchestra); Editor (since 2010; she provides developmental and copy editing services for both fiction and nonfiction works. She also offers proofreading services for academic works). She also works as at Brad's Deals in Chicago as Contributing Editor (since April 2017), and as Content Editor (since February 2019). She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois. |
