Anke Krabbe (Soprano)

Born: Stralsund, Germany

The German soprano, Anke Krabbe, began her training at the Hochschule für Musik in Schwerin, and in 1993 moved to Köln to continue her studies at the Hochschule für Musik with Professor Edda Moser. In 1996 she finished her studies there with honour. During her studies she also participated it in various master-classes with Professor Kurt Moll, Professor Walter Berry and with Professor Judith Beckmann. She completed her training with the concert exam.

After appearances in the Opernstudio of the Musikhochschule Köln and Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, Anke Krabbe made her debut in May 1996 on the stage of Bielefeld. Starting from the 1996-1997 season she became firm ensemble member of this theatre. In the season she could be seen for the first time at the Staatstheater Darmstadt. Since 1995 she can be regularly heard in the concert hall: apart from several appearances in Münster since 1995, she sang among other things in Köln, Stuttgart, Berlin, Bonn and Schwerin among others.

During the Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival and with the performance of the Lazarus by Schubert/Denisov in 1996 at the Liederhalle Stuttgart, she has co-operated with the well-known conductor Helmuth Rilling. In 1998 she came to the stages of Stadt Bielefeld and Städtischen Bühnen Münster. She introduced herself to the public in the big house of the Städtischen Bühnen first with the role of the Ännchen in Weber's Freischütz. In addition she could be heard in past seasons as Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Maria in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, Frasquita in Georges Bizet's Carmen, Eurydice in Offenbach's Orpheus in der Unterwelt and as Sophie Scholl in Udo Zimmermann's chamber opera Weiße Rose at the Städtischen Bühnen.

With beginning of 2004-2005 season, Anke Krabbe is engaged at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg.
