The Norwegian soprano, Magnhild Korsvik, obtained her Master of Music degree from the Norwegian Music School (Norges musikkhøgskole = NMH) in Oslo (August 2010-April 2013), where she has studied with Svein Bjørkøy, Håkan Hagegård and Randi Stene. In 2009 she participated in the prestigious Queen Sonja International Music Competition, where she reached the semifinals.
Magnhild Korsvik has performed solo performances in the folk-opera Havfest by Glenn Erik Haugland and Heidi Tronsmo at the Bergen Opera Festival in 2013, and gave guest performance in Hypermusikal (Haugland / Tronsmo) at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet in 2011. She has been a soloist with, among others, Oslo Domkirke, Bergen Domkantori and Romerike Symfoniorkester. She also sings in the elite ensemble Det Norske Solistkor (Director: Grete Pedersen). In August 2014, she was a soloist at the Oslo Chamber Music Festival in the final concert of J.S. Bach: St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244). During the Oslo Opera Festival, she performed the role of Kvinna (Woman) in the newly written opera Nenia by Kjell Habbestad.
Magnhild Korsvik married Bjørn Atle Nilssen on June 19, 2010. She currently lives in Løten, Norway. |
