The Japanese baritone, Hidenori Komatsu, studied at the University of Arts in Tokyo, as well as at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in Germany with the Kammersängerin Edith Lang.
Hidenori Komatsu is an high-estimated opera and concert singer, who could be heard in many countries (Metropolitan Opera New York, Salzburg Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, among others). He has co-operated in concerts, broadcast and television programs with many important artists, such as José Carreras, Brigitte Fassbaender, Edith Mathis, Kurt Moll, Seiji Ozawa, Wolfgang Sawallisch and Giuseppe Sinopoli.
Recently two new CD's appear, on which Hidenori Komatsu and the pianist Jörg Demus can be heard in Schubert's Winterreise and in a selection of Lieder by Johannes Brahms. In the context of the German-Japanese culture exchange he appears regularly with Japanese choirs in Germany. In 1992 he was appointed as Professor at thr Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. |
