The American bass-baritone and voice teacher, Kyle Knappenberger, studied in the International Baccalaureate Program at Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School (2000-2004). He obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Applied Music from Stetson University (2004-2009); and his Master of Music degree in Applied Music from the University of Houston (2009-2011). As a graduate Moores Opera Program Teaching Assistant for the music literature/history department at the University of Houston, he taught subjects such as W.A. Mozart’s operas, German Lied, and American Blues Music as well as tutored both undergraduate and graduate students in music literature and history. He also and attended Seagle Music Program in Schroon Lake, New York. He won the prestigious Giffin Vocal Competition and the Stetson Concerto competition. He is now Doctoral Student at James Madison University School of Music in Harrisonburg, Virgina.
Since May 2011, Kyle Knappenberger is active as a self-contracted professional classical singer, trained in opera, oratorio, musical theatre, and art song literature. Experience performing with orchestras, choirs, small ensembles. He has performed with the Moores Opera Program and locally with the Space Coast Symphony and Brevard Community Chorus, as well as in numerous oratorio settings.
Kyle Knappenberger maintains a private voice studio serving both Brevard and Orange counties (since August 2012), works as a vocal consultant/coach for Brevard and Orange County high school choir and drama programs (since February 2013), and serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Florida Institute of Technology (since August 2013). |
