The German tenor, Dirk Kleinke, started his studies as choir-conductor in Weimar. But soon he changed his intentions and went to Berlin, which is his home-town. In Berlin the young tenor studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler". He successfully graduated as solo-singer under the patronage of Scot Weir.
Dirk Kleinke debuted as Vergy in Gretry´s Blaubart in 1999. He has already performed at the Oper Neukölln in Berlin, at the Staatsoper Berlin, in Dessau and Rheinsberg at the 2000´summer-festival. Under the direction of George Tabori Dirk Kleinke performed as Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte im Zirkuszelt, which find an enormous favour by audience and critics as well.
Dirk Kleinke is a delicious lyric tenor, with a deep effect as buffo-tenor. His voice is clear, agile in the hights and with a baritone-like ground in the depths. Since the season of 2000 Dirk Kleinke is a permanent member of Staatstheater Cottbus. As an actor Dirk Kleinke gets a striking Fellini-like attention on stage. Mobile, charming and with a slight touch of humour he catches the audience. And even these features make him a good choice for each operetta-cast, which is his second great love.
Dirk Kleinke is a member of Berlin vocal-ensemble "opus4voices". And he is a busy singer of oratories and concerts. Dirk Kleinke lives in Berlin. |
