The American tenor, Adam Kirkpatrick, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree and his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music; and his his Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University. He was a national finalist in the 2010 NATSAA competition, and he represented the USA in the Seoul International Voice Competition (South Korea, 2007). He also competed and won prizes in the Opera Birmingham Voice Competition (2007 and 2008) and the South-East and Mid-South regional Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (2006 and 2007). He was also honored as a recipient of the NATS Young Leaders Award in 2006.
Adam Kirkpatrick has sung operatic roles and concerts in many theaters throughout the USA, singing with the: Cincinnati Opera, Atlanta Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Tri-Cities Opera (New York), Dayton Opera, Florida State Opera, Knoxville Symphony (Tennessee), Newton Symphony (Massachusetts), Georgia Symphony, LaGrange Symphony (Georgia), Cobb Symphony (Georgia), McDonough Symphony (Georgia), Tallahassee Symphony (Florida), Northwest Florida Symphony, and more.
Adam Kirkpatrick was recently seen as: Conte Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Northwest Florida Symphony; tenor soloist in W.A. Mozart's Requiem with the Georgia Symphony; Monostatos in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with both the Atlanta Ballet and the Atlanta Opera; Don Basilio and Don Curzio in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Prince Ramiro in La Cenerentola with the Atlanta Opera; tenor soloist in J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232 with the New Trinity Baroque (March 2011); and the Tenor Soloist in Carmina Burana with the Knoxville Symphony.
Adam Kirkpatrick joined the faculty at the Kennesaw State University School of Music in Georgia in 2008. Currently (2011), he is the Associate Professor of music there. Though he spends most of his professional life teaching voice and singing, he also finds time to write and publish articles related to voice and singing. He has published several articles related to vocal pedagogy in the Journal of Singing: “Teaching The Lower Laryngeal Position With EMG Biofeedback,” “Chiaroscuro And The Quest For Optimal Resonance,” "How to Sing Coloratura," "Correcting Problematic Vibratos: Using Sustained Dynamic Exercises to Discover and Foster Healthy Vibrato." In 2016, he retired from academia to focus all his attention on his entrepreneurial aspirations, which include singing professionally and working as a real estate investor. Kirkpatrick and his mini-orchestra band released in 2014 an EP of favorite tenor “popera” hits to iTunes and all other major online music vendors in an album entitled “Poperazzi.”
Adam Kirkpatrick is the inventor of a patented new method for teaching the lower laryngeal position in singing using electromyographic (EMG) biofeedback and is the architect of the BioGraph Infinity voice training software suite available through the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe CIC. He is also the inventor of the SWTB Mobile App and founder of singwiththebest.com. |
