The American tenor, Marcus Edward Jefferson, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (2015-May 2019), studying in the studio of Professor Jan Opalach; and his Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music (July 2019-May 2021).
Marcus Jefferson's stage credits include Don Ottavio in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovann with Oswego Opera Theater; Elder Hayes and Little Bat in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah and Benvolio in Charles Gounod's Roméo et Juliette with the Janiec Opera Company; as well as Don Ottavio, Tenor 2 in Ricky Ian Gordon’s The Tibetan Book of the Dead, and Nutrice in L’incoronazione di Poppea with the Eastman Opera Theater. With the Manhattan School of Music Opera Theater he has performed scenes as W.A. Mozart's Idomeneo, Giles Corey from The Crucible and Dr. Caius from Falstaff. His recent recording projects include solo works by H. Leslie Adams with the New Muses Project with the Yale School of Music. He currently studies with Jonathan Beyer and Marlena Malas.
Marcus Jefferson was Choral Scholar at The Episcopal Church of St. Luke & St. Simon Cyrene in Rochester, New York; and Choir Member at Marble Collegiate Church (since September 2019). He currently lives in New York City, New York. |
