The Canadian-born tenor, Arthur Janzen, studied music and singing at Canadian Mennonite Bible College in Winnipeg (Class of 1964) and in Toronto. Through a scholarship he came to Professor Theo Lindenbaum (singings) and Günter Weißenborn (Lied) to the Nordwestdeutsche Musikakademie Detmold in Germany (October 1967-June 1970), where he later received a teaching job.
Arthur Janzen unfolded an extended concert activity as a Lied and Oratorio singer, who took him next to his native country to the USA, to many European countries and to Israel. Connected with it were radio, LP and and TV recordings.
Arthur Janzen was teacher at the Musikhochschule Detmold (May 1973-September 1989); and then was appointed as Sining POrogfeesor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (October 1989-September 2012). He currently lives in Langenfeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. |
