The American mezzo-soprano, Alyse Danielle Jamieson, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where she studied early and sacred music extensively while working with the Notre Dame Children’s Choir; and her Master of Music degree from the University of Oregon (2018-2020). Since 2020, she studies for her DMA degree at the University of Oregon and teaches MUS 101, 140, 174, and MUS 156 in the Spring.
Alyse Jamieson is known for her expressive and stylistic interpretations of concert and dramatic repertoire. As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras and ensembles around the country and in Europe, specializing in early music. Recent opera roles include Dido in Dido and Æneas, Ruth and Kate in separate productions of Pirates of Penzance, Dorabella in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte, Alisa in Lucia di Lamermoor, Miss Todd in Old Maid & The Thief, The Hunter in John Blow’s Venus & Adonis, Quartet in Sweeney Todd, Cornelia in George Frideric Handel's Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, and Orfeo in Orfeo et Euridice. In March 2021, she sang with the University of Oregon Opera Ensemble the role of Bradamante in selections from George Frideric Handel's Alcina.
Alyse Jamiesoncurrently lives in in Notre Dame, Indiana. She enjoys photography, graphic design and art of all kinds, cooking free from the tyranny of recipes, the outdoors, and looks forward to touring this summer with her all-girl punk band, Fresh Hell. |
