The Korean soprano, Seo Hyungju, majored in Voice at Sangmyung University in her country, South Korea. After graduating from Sangmyung University, she decided to study operas in Italy. In Italy, she took the course of diploma of the second level (Master's degree) in 'Canto Lirico' under the professor Fulvia Bertoli at the Conservatory 'Giacomo Puccini' in La Spezia. After graduating from the Conservatory 'Giacomo Puccini', she took another course of diploma of the second level (Master degree) in 'Musica Vocale da Camera' under the professor Leonardo De Lisi at the Conservatory 'Luigi Cherubini' in Florence and she graduated from the Conservatory 'Luigi Cherubini' this year (2018?). She participated in a master-class of Angelo Bertacchi, and a master-class of Luciana Serra.
Seo Hyungju sang a role of Suor Genovieffa in the opera Suor Angelica by Giaccomo Puccini (Teatro Civico di La Spezia e Teatro Chiabrera di Savona). She also sang the Requiem, K 626 by W.A. Mozart in the choir (Auditorium Maximum, Accademia de Muzica "Gheorghe Dima" di Cluj-Napoca in Romania) and sang the same program as a soloist in the Church Abbazziale S. Maria Assunta in La Spezia, and also in the Church cathedral of Nostra Signora dell'Orto di Chiavari. Currently, she sings at various concerts. She is a member of The Far Eastern Baroque Ensemble with the Korean tenor Hongsik Yoon and Chinese keyboardist Xiaoran Bu. The group was formed as part of the courses for interpretation of Baroque music at the Conservatory Puccini in La Spezia. |
