The German mezzo-soprano, Annerose Hummel, studied at the Musikhochschule Mannheim, Mainz; then until 2001 opera singing at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt am Main. In 1998 she won the Erika-Köth-Meistersinger-Wettbewerb, and in 2002 was a finalist at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang (Federal Singing Competition) in the field of opera. In 1996-2001, she received a scholarship from the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, then from the Richard-Wagner-Verbandes and in 2002 from the Deutschen Bühnenvereins.
In 2001 Annerose Hummel sang at the Jungen Oper of the Staatsoper Stuttgart in Der Schweinehirt by G. Schedl, and in 2003 in Cupid and Death by M. Locke and Ch. Gibbons. Other engagements have taken her in 2001-2004 to the Nationaltheater Mannheim in Hänsel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck, in 2002 to the Staatsoper Stuttgart with three Baroque arias, in 2002 to the Saalbau Neukölln in Rossini's The Italian Girl in Algiers, in 2003 to the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg in Welch schöne Nacht by S. Matthus. In 2006 she sang at Junge Oper of thr Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Tollwood München; in 2007 at the Landestheater Thüringen and the Luzerner Theater. |
