The American lyric coloratura soprano, Heide Marvin Holcomb Janshon, studied at Ellison High School in · Killeen, Texas (1978-1982). She obtained her degrees in Muic and Music performance from HardinSimmons University in Abilene, Texas (1982-1986); and her Master of Music degree in Music Performance from Florida State University in Tallahassee (1988-1993). She is Heide holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Florida State University and is an alumnus of the Orlando Opera Resident Artist program, where she performed the roles of Antonia in Man of La Mancha, Juliette in Romeo et Juliette, Miss Wordsworth in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring, Norina in Don Pasquale and Poppea in L'Incoronazione di Poppea.
Heide Holcomb's first career is as a professional singer. After her relocation to New York City, she appeared with the Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts as Barbarina in W.A. Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Syracuse Opera as Anne in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Orlando Opera Company (Resident Artist: 1994-1995) as Valencienne in The Merry Widow and New York Chamber Opera as Elisa in W.A. Mozart's Il Re Pastore along with numerous performances of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Yum-Yum in the Mikado, and Josephine in HMS Pinafore with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players (1996-2001) both in New York City and on tour, as well as originating the role of Joanie in the world premiere of Incident at San Bajo with New York Citys Riverside Opera Ensemble. She has also appeared with the Wolf Trap Opera.
Heide Holcomb performed extensively throughout the USA and abroad. Abroad, appearances included an operatic aria and duet program at the Convento do Beato in Lisbon, Portugal and with the American Institute for Musical Studies orchestra in Graz, Austria.
Other notable orchestral performances have included: Samuel Barber's Summer of 1915, Webber's Requiem and a most memorable performance as soprano soloist in Francis Poulenc's Gloria under the baton of Robert Shaw. Heide Holcomb made her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist in George Frideric Handel's Messiah under the baton of John Rutter. She also performed with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra in their Yuletide Celebration.
In December 2010, Heide Holcomb e appeared at First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg, Florida as the Soprano Soloist in G.F. Handel's Messiah. Over a span of six years, her fun character and versatile soprano voice delighted audiences across the USA by her performances in A Tribute to the MGM Hollywood Musicals with the Omaha Symphony (2005); Edmonton, Ontario Symphony (2004); Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (2004); Oklahoma City Symphony (2003); Ottawa Symphony Orchestra (2003); National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center (2003); Naples Symphony, Florida (2002 & 2007); Baltimore Symphony (2002); Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra (2002); Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (4/01); Detroit Symphony Orchestra (6/01); Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (7/01); Milwaukee Symphony (10/01)....over 75 performances in all.
Since August 2005, Heide Holcomb Janshon works as Independent Beauty Consultant and Independent (since 2014, Senior Beauty Consultant/Sales Director) with Mary Kay Cosmetics in the Lisa Allison National Area. She is married to Billy Janshon, and has a son Titus and a Alina. She currently lives in Tampa, Florida. |
