The German baritone, Achim Hoffmann, began his musical training with the Regensburger Domspatzen. Later he studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne with Monica Pick-Hieronimi.
Since then, Achim Hoffmann has experience in numerous concerts and opera performances, such as Papageno in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, as Count Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, as Claudius in George Frideric Handel's Agrippina or as Achilles in Offenbach's La Belle Hélène. On CD, he can be heard as Trutz in Siegfried, Wagner's Der Kobold and seen on DVD.
Achim Hoffmann's concert repertoire ranges from Gregorian verses to Orff's Carmina Burana and contemporary works. In the production of Flughunde by Marcel Beyer and Andreas Durban he performed the title role in the premiere at the Sprechtheater. He has also appeared on the stages of theaters in Bonn, Trier, Fürth, Solingen, the Haag and Modena; and has given concerts in Holland, Norway, Russia, Serbia and Brazil. He has worked with conductors such as Hiroshi Kodama, Frank Strobel, Christoph Spering, Werner Ehrhardt, Franz Raml and Joshua Rifkin, and with the directors Igor Folwill, Wolfgang Quetes and Yoshi Oida. |
