The American tenor, Christopher Hodson, obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music from Western Michigan University; and his Master of Music degree in in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College, where he studied voice with Dr. Christopher Arneson.
His operatic roles include Peter Quint in Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw, Don Ottavio in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, Belmonte in W.A. Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore, Sam in Floyd’s Susannah, Pelleas in Debussy’s Pelleas et Melisande, Chevalier de la Force in Francis Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmelites, Azaël in Debussy’s L’enfant Prodigue, the title role in Georges Bizet’s Le Docteur Miracle, Frederick in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, and Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaf. He has sung several roles with Boheme Opera in past seasons, including Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus, and Remendado in Georges Bizet’s Carmen, Arturo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.
In addition to his opera experience Christopher Hodson has also appeared as a featured soloist in J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244), once with the American Classical Orchestra under the baton of Tom Crawford and another with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall under the baton of Kurt Masur, W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Arvo Pärt’s Passio with the Michigan Bach Collegium, George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, and Herbert Howells’ Requiem. He is currently based in Princeton, New Jersey. |
