The Finnish choral conductor, Leif Johan Höckert, studied violin with Leena Siukonen at the Sibelius Academy's youth department. Choir Conducting he studied with Harald Andersén and Anders Eby, among others, and he also particpated in the master-classes of Professor Dan-Olof Stenlund and Professor Eric Ericson.
After his studies, Leif Johan Höckert held the conductor and assistant conductor in several choirs, including the Akademiska Sångföreningen (1963-1970), Chorus Sanctae Ceciliae (1971-1976), . Trefaldighetskyrkans kör in Vaasa (1980-1981). Between 1967-1968 and 1969-1974, he sang in Radions Kammarkör (Finnish Radio Chamber Choir). He was conductor of the Vasa Kammarkör from 1983 to 2001, after having been the choir's assistant conductor from 1981 to 1983. |
