The German contralto, Karola Hausburg, completed training as a part-time church musician even as a schoolgirl. After graduating from high school, she passed the B examination at Berliner Kirchenmusikschule and then studied music education at the UdK Berlin, majoring in singing.
In addition to her work as an organist and choir director in Berlin-Zehlendorf, Karola Hausburg works as a singing teacher. The focus of her solo work is in the oratorio. She is particularly interested in ensemble singing, which she pursues in various formations. She regularly collaborates with the Ensemble Voces Berlin, Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), Vocalconsort Berlin and RIAS-Kammerchor Berlin, who have engaged her for the coming season. |
