The American soprano, Lynn Louise Griebling Moores, was born in Milwaukee, the daughter of the now late Winfred and Eleanor (Sennott) Griebling and grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Bradford High School, class of 1963. She graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and secured her Master of Arts degree in Music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed further study in England.
After her studies, Lynn Griebling returned to the USA, where she sang professionally at venues throughout the nation. Later she began to incorporate teaching into her career. She taught vocal music first at Rice University, Texas and then at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. She devoted her life to performing music and teaching others. More recently she served as as music director, organist and pianist at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in De Pere and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Suamico Wisconsin. She was an extraordinary musician and teacher, beloved by all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Lynn is survived by her immediate family, brother Neal Griebling, sister-in-law Beverly Griebling, and cousin Linda (Klein) Cook. |
