The Austrian counter-tenor, Armin Gramer, studied singing at the Prayner-Konservatorium Wien (2002 diploma with distinction), then at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien (2006 also graduated with honours). He also studied biology. He attended several master-classes, including with Paul Esswood in London. He is the winner of the competition of the Kammeroper Rheinsberg, where he appeared in 2004 in Harry Kupfer's production of George Frideric Handel's Ottone.
Even while studying Armin Gramer already appeared in various roles at the Wiener Konzerthaus (Dido and Aeneas), at the Wiener Kammeroper (Peri in Euridice and Blow in Venus und Adonis), at the Gurker Dom (Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi) and at the Musikwochen Millstatt. He has appeared in numerous concerts on stages in Austria and Germany with works by A. Vivaldi, J.S. Bach and Purcell. In 2007 he renewed his engagement at the Wiener Kammeroper (Agrippina by G.F. Handel), as well as participation at the Bach-Wochen Wien (Stabat Mater by A. Vivaldi) and the Barockfest Schloss Hof. At the Bayerische Staatsoper he appeared for the 3rd time in 2008-2009 season (Macbeth). |
