The Göttinger Kammerorchester (Göttingen Chamber Orchestra) is an international ensemble in which the musicians of the Göttinger Symphonieorchesters have come together to devote themselves especially to chamber music and solo work .
Since 1992, the 12-member ensemble performs under the artistic and organizational leadership of Johann Sebastian Sommer usually in the form of chamber music without a conductor. Depending on the program design, the ensemble also works with brass, timpani (drums) and conductors. Soloists such as Zitterbart, Rusné Mataityté, Andreas Lorenz, Astrid von Brück, Matthias Eisenberg and Peter Lohse expand the possibilities of the ensemble through regular fruitful cooperation.
The range of programmes covers the entire spectrum of chamber music literature involving the corresponding solo works from the early Baroque music to contemporary music.
The ensemble follows concert engagements throughout Germany as well as invitations to appear abroad, and was in 2000 at the XIV. Festival Grad Theatre in Budva, Montenegro. Recently, the Göttinger Kammerorchester was invited to perform in China. |
