The Japanese bass Shunya Goto (Japanese: 後藤駿也), graduated from Tokyo Netsujutsu University, Faculty of Music, Department of Vocal Music, and Graduate School of Music, majoring in Opera. He studied at Tokyo University of the Arts (2013-2017). He received the Acanthus Award and the Doseikai Award upon graduating from undergrad, the Graduate School Acanthus Music Award upon completing graduate school, and the Toride Mayor's Award in 2019. He received the Grand Prize and the Kawasaki Shizuko Award at the completion of the Nikikai Opera Training Institute Master Class.
Shunya Goto appeared as Papageno in `W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, at the 64th Jukudai Opera, and as Don Alfonso in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte at the 65th Jukudai Opera (October 2019), and Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah (November 2019). He appeared as a bass soloist in the 2019 Netsu University Philharmonic Orchestra “Koriya”. He also appeared at the 24th Nikikai Diva, Devo (November 2, 2021 at Hokulu Hall). He is Nikikai member. He currently lives in Arakawa. |
