The American soprano, Jessica Gorski, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance cum laude in 2011 from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She studied there under Moreau Music Scholarship with Semester Study abroad in Rome, Italy. In 1012, she particpated in Young Artist Summer Program Opera Viva! in Verona, Italy. In 2013, she finished her Graduate Studies in Voice Performance at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington under Brechemin Music Scholarhip. She Jessica has performed in master-classes with renowned singers June Anderson and Isabel Leonard, and has worked with notable vocal coaches Philip Kelsey (of the Seattle Opera) and Joyce Fieldsend (formerly of the San Francisco Opera).
While pursuing her Master’s degree in Voice at the University of Washington, Jessica Gorski studied under Singing Voice Specialist Dr. Kari Ragan. She sang the featured roles of Ida in Die Fledermaus, Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, and Ms. Wordsworth in Albert Herring. She has also spent significant time studying opera and performance in Italy: delving into the character of Susana in Le Nozze di Figaro while in Verona; and completing tutelage under Rosanna Straffi of the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, with a focus on Italian aria and art song repertoire.
Jessica Gorski was a choir member of Saint Mary’s Madrigal Singers South Bend, Indiana (2007-2008; Saint Mary’s Women’s Choir South Bend, Indiana (2007-2011); First United Methodist Church, Section Leader South Bend, Indiana (2008-2011) University of Washington Chamber Singers Seattle, Washington (2011-2012); St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Section Leader Seattle, Washington (2012-2013).
Jessica Gorski has been teaching private voice lessons since 2011, working primarily with teens. She has helped her students win firsts in state competitions, ready for auditions, and prepare for lead roles in musicals. She has also taught recreational voice to young professionals and college students interested in cultivating their talents. |
