The German counter-tenor, Daniel Gloger, received his initial musical training as a member of the Stuttgarter Hymnus-Chorknaben and from his mother, Dorothee Gloger. In 1993 he received First Prize at the Federal Competition "Jugend musiziert" (repeated in 1995). He continued his studies with France Simard in Stuttgart and completed his studies in Music Education at the Music Conservatory in Trossingen in October, 2000. Since 2001 he studied with Professor Donald Litaker at the Musikhochschule Music Conservatory in Karlsruhe and completed his Masters Degree in Voice in early 2005. In 2004 he received a scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg (Foundation for the Arts).
Daniel Gloger has been a member of the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart since 1994. As a soloist, he has sung at renowned Festivals such as the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestpiele, Märzmusik Berlin, Pfingsten Barock in Salzburg, Transart Südtirol, Expo Hannover (2000 - Aventures and Nouvelles Aventures by György Ligeti), Knechtstedener Tage für Alte Musik (2000 - Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi), Schwetzinger Festspiele (2001 - role of the Commander in the world premiere of the opera Bacon 1561-1992 by Manuel Hidalgo; 2004 - title role in Der gute Gott von Manhattan by Adriana Hölszky), Bruckner-Festspiele in Linz (2002 - San Giovanni Battista in Salome by Alessandro Stradella), Festival Arts and Ideas, New Haven (2003 - Phantom Palace by Hilda Paredes), Staatstheater Stuttgart (Drama) (2003 - Solitude by Kerstin Specht), and Festival für Europäische Kirchenmusik, Schwäbisch Gmünd (2003 - Saul by George Frideric Handel).
In 2005 Daniel Gloger appeared at the Eclat Stuttgart in Branng! by Michael Beil & Thierry Brühl, made his debut at the Semperoper in Dresden with the title role in Adriana Hölsky's opera Der gute Gott von Manhattan, and appeared at the Festival de Música Contemporánea, Buenos Aires in Fabula by Oscar Strasnoy. In 2006 he sang in Nürnberg, Erlangen, Krakau, and Vienna in Zauberflöte - eine Prüfung, and appeared in concert with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester and in l'Orfeo with PERCEUM Ensemble Montevideo.
CD recordings with the pianist Peter von Wienhardt, the Orlando di Lasso Ensemble Hannover, and the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart document his wide-ranging repertoire. |
