Roberta Giua (Soprano)

Born: Turin (Torino), Italy

The Italian soprano, Roberto Giua, studied at Liceo Scientifico Galileo Ferraris Torino, and Università degli Studi di Torino (Class of 1992). After leaving university, she studied music, concentrating on the repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries and chamber music.

Roberta Giua has performed with many ensembles specialising in early music, among them Cantica Simphonia, Concerto delle dame di Ferrara, Sacro e Profano and Daltrocanto. As a soloist she has sung with Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Orchestra del Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, Orchestra Milano Classica, Europa Galante (Director: Fabio Biondi), Academia Montis Regalis (Director: Alessandro De Marchi), Accademia Bizantina (Director: Ottavio Dantone), Orchestra Filarmonica in Turin and Accademia dei Solinghi (Director: Rita Peiretti). She is a member of Coro della Radio Svizzera (Director: Diego Fasolis).

Roberta Giua has broadcast on Swiss Radio 2, Belgian Radio 3, and the Italian State Radio (RAI) and made recordings of Renaissance and Baroque music. She currently lives in Turin (Torino), Italy.
