The French baritone, conductor, music teacher and neurochemist, Christophe Gautier, studied at Institut Saint- Lo in Agneaux, Basse-Normandie (1989-1991). He studied Medicine at UFR Médecine Caen (1992-); Neuroscience Biochemistry at Université de Caen Normandie (1991-1996); Musicology at University of Rouen (graduated 1997). He studied write, trumpet, conducting, history of music, tuba, analysis, ensemble music, early music and singing. To perfect his art, he studied Early Music at Musique Ancienne Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles (1999-2000); and Singing at Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris (2000-2002). He won a prize at ADAMI 2004, 1st prize of lyric art at Maîtres du Chant Français, winner of the Académie Maurice Ravel, and 2nd prize at the Concours International de Mélodie de Toulouse.
Christophe Gautier is active as baritone singer in the Paris area. He specializes in medieval and Renaissance vocal music. He was a member of prestigious ensembles as Le Parlement de Musique (Director: Martin Gester), A Sei Voci,, Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie) (2003-2015). He has also been a member of Macadam Ensemble, Pierius Ensemble de Musique Ancienne, Le Val de Grâce and Renaissance8. He is Art Director of La Chapelle Musique, and Director of early music ensemble Musica Ficta and Ensemble de Voix d’hommes Aquilon. Since 2007, he is a resident of the Fondation Singer-Polignac. He currently lives in Marne-la-Vallée, France. |
