The Swiss bass and choral conductor, Beat Fritschi, studied after graduating from high school at the Konservatorium Zürich, Musikhochschule Zürich and Universität Zürich and earned numerous degrees. He holds diplomas for organ, piano, voice, school music and choral conducting / conducting. He completed further study semesters at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (among others with René Jacobs). He attended master-classes with Wilhelm Ehmann (Detmold), Helmuth Rilling (Stuttgart), Richard Schumacher (Lugano), Marc Deller (Ashford, Kent) and Jessica Cash (Innsbruck).
Beat Fritschi is active as conductor, vocal trainer & chorus master, pianist, organist, bass singer, singing teacher, school musician in Zürich and Winterthur since 1986. Engagements as a teacher for voice training and choral conducting regularly lead Beat Fritschi abroad (including Germany, South Africa, Russia). In Zürich, he supervises a choral internship at the Musikhochschule and choir practice at the Kantonsschule Rämibühl das Chorwesen. Here he also directs the Kammerchor Rämibühl, Zürich, founded by him in 1982. In addition to his busy activity as chorus master, he can also be heard as a bass soloist in concerts.
Since 1986, Beat Fritschi has been the director of the Oratorienchor Winterthur. He is also director of ensemble2010 in Aathal, founded by him in 2010. He puts not only great emphasis on a stylistic interpretation as possible, but also on the vocal support of his singers. His voice training is an integral part of the choral work. |
