Erik Frithjof (Bass)

Born: Munich, Bavaria, Germany

The German bass, Erik Frithjof, studied first in his hometown of Munich theater studies, then in Düsseldorf singing at the Robert-Schumann Hochschule. He received further impulses in master-classes with Julia Varady and Werner Hollweg.

In addition to his solo career, Erik Frithjof has important experiences in ensemble singing (member of the Choralschola an der Maxkirche in Düsseldorf and of the Opernchor der Grazer Oper). As an oratorio, Lieder and opera singer he performs in concerts and broadcasts in major music centers in Europe and Japan, where he collaborates with well-known ensembles and conductors, as well as with the pianist Alexander Schmalcz as a Lied accompanist. He works as a singing teacher. In Japan, he gave master-classes in Lied interpretation.
