The German baritone, Nikolaus Fluck, was from 1997 to 2010 a member of the Knabenchor der Limburger Domsingknaben (boys choir). There he gained first musical experiences at numerous concerts at home and abroad (America, Mexico, Canada, Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Ireland, Tschechein, Austria, Luxembourg, France) and as one opf the 3 boys in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Kölner Oper. In the same time he got trumpets and piano lessons and was awarded in the category Trumpet several prizes. From 2010 to 2015, he studied first music education, later a Bachelor of Arts degree in A trumpet at Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart with Bertram Schwarz. In 2014 he began the widening to Jazz / Popular Music with a major in jazz trumpet with Bastian Stein. Since March 2015, he stidies for Bachelor of Arts degre in singing in the class of Carmen Mammoser who taught the young baritone already during his school music studies. The intensive study of the Lieder began in 2014 with his duo partner Kathrin Schweizer in the class of Thomas Seyboldt.
Nikolaus Fluck worked in the Studio für Neue Musik (studio for new music) and the ensemble v.act an (Ur-)Aufführungen Neuer Vokalmusik under Professor Angelika Luz and Professor Frank Wörner and sang in 2013 in the music theater collage Der Turm zu Babel with music by Mauricio Kagel under the direction of Marcelo Cardoso Gama and in co-operation with the Akademie Schloss Solitude. He can be heard regularly as a soloist in the Stuttgart area, especially in sacred music, including many cantatas of J.S. Bach, in the Rrnsten Gesängen and the Deutschen Requiem by Johannes Brahms, Maurice Duruflé's Requiem or Rossini's Petite messe solennelle.
In addition to his solo activities, Nikolaus Fluck is dedicated with great enthusiasm to ensemble singing. He sings, among others in the men chamber choir Ensemble Vocapella Limburg, with many concerts at home and abroad as well as numerous awards (including winner of the Deutschen und Hessischen Chorwettbewerbs 2014). In 2012 he sang in the JSB Ensemble under Helmuth Rilling and was active in the Chor der Jungen Oper Stuttgart. He is a member of the Hochschulkammerchor Stuttgart (prize-winner at the Kammerchorwettbewerbs in Mosbach 2014) under the direction of Professor Denis Rouger and sings in the German-French ensemble Candides under Mihaly M. Zeke (prize-winner at the Chorwettbewerb Neuchâtel 2014). Since 2015, he is member of the Kammerchor Stuttgart under Professor. Frieder Bernius. Work with the Stuttgart ensemble KlangKunst, where he is active as a baritone, completes his ensemble activity. |
