Diana Fischer (Soprano)

Born: Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The German soprano, Diana Fischer, studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München under Professor Sylvia Greenberg. After receiving her concert diploma and attending the Bayerischen Theaterakademie, she completed her education by attending master-classes with Edith Mathis, Barbara Bonney, Claudia Eder, Robert Holzer, Enrico Facini and Helen Donath. Her artistic work has been recognized with scholarships from the Landesstiftung Villa Musica Mainz, Brahmsgesellschaft Baden-Baden, Richard Wagner Verbands München, Carl-Michael-Ziehrer-Stiftung Wien, Rotary Stipendium Wels; as well as prizes from the Internationalen Rheinsberg-Wettbewerbs Berlin and a grant from the Junge Musiker Stiftung Bayreuth.

Guest performances have taken Diana Fischer to the Opernfestspielen Bad Hersfeld, Theater Linz, Theater Eisenach and Gärtnerplatztheater Munich. In 2010 she made her debut at the Händelfestspielen in Halle and at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. This was followed by concert tours to the Monaco Cathedral, Festival Música Mallorca and the “Cultural Olympics Sotchi” in Russia. In her adopted home of Nürnberg, she is a welcome guest at the Dehnberger Hoftheater, most recently in the title role of Donizetti's rarely performed opera Rita as well as in Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona and other events.

After five years as a soloist in the ensemble of the Freien Landestheaters Bayern, in which she appeared on stage as Frau Fluth in Lustige Weiber, Blonde in W.A. Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Kurfürstin in Vogelhändler, among others, Diana Fischer was hired by the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks. With this award-winning soloist ensemble, she received the ECHO Klassik for Ensemble of the Year, the Bayerischen Staatspreis and numerous other awards for CD recordings. Since 2018 she has represented the Bayerischen Rundfunk in the Funkhaussolisten solo quartet.

In addition, she remains committed to the concert field, especially as an interpreter of the oratorios and cantatas of J.S. Bach, and can be heard as a soloist at numerous festivals, including the ION (Internationale Orgelwoche Nürnberg), Herbstlichen Musiktage Bad Urach, Mendelssohn-Festtage Leipzig, Bamberger Dom; with the Philharmonie Baden-Baden, Münstermusik Ulm and Münchner Rundfunkorchester.
